It originates in the La Moskitia region of Honduras, where the native Miskito people have used it for centuries as a beauty remedy (they even nicknamed it a “miracle oil” for its hair and skin benefits). You can use batana oil as a nourishing hair treatment. For deep conditioning, you can mix it with your choice of other essential oils, or add it to your deep conditioner. Leave it on for at least 30 minutes (or even overnight, for a more intense treatment) before washing it out with shampoo. This helps the oil penetrate and condition your hair. For daily or weekly use, you can apply a few drops to the ends or scalp. Remember, a little goes a long way with this concentrated natural oil.

Batana oil is a wonderful moisturizer for the skin. After cleansing, take a drop or two of the oil, warm it in your hands, and gently massage it into the skin on your face or body wherever you need extra hydration.
